The Palestinian Advanced School on Computational Methods 2026 (PASCM) is a week-long school for students in natural sciences who have been displaced from Gaza.

The school will be held in-person at the Netherlands-Flemish Institute in Cairo and online, 22nd — 26th March 2026. Additional students will join remotely from Gaza and the West Bank.

Interested students should register by the 4th of February. Participants are required to arrive by the 21st March.

About

The school will introduce students to a broad range of computational methods and their applications in physics, complex systems, chemistry, and biology. Students will gain skills in data analysis, machine learning, simulation, and modelling of complex systems.

The school will also feature a Q&A session on graduate school applications.

Lecturers

Lectures will be given by internationally recognized experts, including

Prof. Enrico Carlon (KU Leuven, Belgium)
Dr. Pedro Jose de la Torre Luque (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain)

Dr. Riccardo di Clemente, (ISI Foundation, Italy and Northeastern University London, UK)
Israa Shamkh (EBO Bio Solution)

Students

This school is aimed at advanced undergraduate and early-graduate students in a relevant scientific subject (such as physics, chemistry or biology) originally from Gaza, displaced in Egypt or nearby. Students in Palestine may also join online.

We will try our best to cover internet hub costs for students in Palestine.
Travel and accommodation costs for in-person attendance will be covered in full by Scientists for Palestine at the end of the school (سنغطي تكاليف الوجبات والإقامة والسفر من منزلك إلى المدرسة والعودة).

Note: Scientists for Palestine are grateful to the Netherlands-Flemish Institute in Cairo for hosting the spring school. We regret that violent occupation and ongoing genocide prevent it from taking place in Palestine, and do not wish to contribute to the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. We will return to organizing schools in Palestine in the future.
